27-28 March 2014, Luxembourg François Pachet (SONY) and David Meredith (AAU) attend the EU DG CONNECT Creativity Unit workshop on The Future of ICT in Creativity and the Creative Industries. A report on the workshop is available for download here.
10-11 July 2014, Paris Darrell Conklin (EHU) and Ricardo de Aldama (SONY) organise a workshop on electronic dance music (EDM) to explore possibilities for collaboration on machine learning and generation of music in this style. The workshop was also attended by Stefan Oertl (RECO), Louis Bigo (EHU), Dorien Herremans (EHU) and Kathleen Agres (QMUL). The event served to disseminate the project to employees of Sony not involved in the project.
18-19 July 2014, Venice ÖFAI's automatic piano rendering system, the Basis Mixer, performs Beethoven Piano Sonata No.1 (Op.2 No.1), third movement (Menuetto, Allegretto) at a concert held in conjunction with the 1st International Workshop on Computer and Robotic Systems for Automatic Music Performance (SAMP14).
19-20 September 2014, Leuven David Meredith (AAU) organises and chairs the special session on Computational Music Analysis at the Eighth European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC2014). The event served to disseminate the project to the music analysis community in general and to the other contributors to the special session who were specifically focused on computational approaches.
23-24 September 2014, Boston Stefan M. Oertl (RECO) presents a keynote at the Advanced Audio and Applications Exchange Conference (A3E) on “The Future of Artificial Intelligence and Music Instruments”.

4-5 December 2014, Vienna OFAI organizes a workshop "Deep learning for music processing". The 2-day workshop consists of a seminar, and a hands-on tutorial presenting the lrn2 framework for representation learning (Deliverable 1.1). The workshop is attended by participants from collaborating institutes (Numerical Harmonic Analysis Group/University of Vienna, Department of Computational Perception/Johannes Kepler University, Institute of Music Acoustics (IWK) / University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Queen Mary University London, Antwerpen University), involved in several related projects (Giant Steps / EU FP7 Grant No. 610591, PHENICX / EU FP7 Grant No. 601166, Salsa / FWF 2015)

21 October 2015, Lisbon Maarten Grachten (OFAI) holds a key-note speech in a cross-EU-project Workshop Understanding human creativity in music. The workshop is held in conjunction with ICT 2015, is organised by the Giant Steps project, and brings together people from several music/creativity-related projects: Giant Steps, Music Bricks, rapidmix, PHENICX, and Lrn2Cre8. The key note addresses general aspects of computational creativity, and gives a selective overview of results from Lrn2Cre8.
